SO FAR IN 2013…
Check out where GYMN has been already in 2013…and find out where GYMN is going next!
ASIA TOUR
Your prayers and support make a real difference in the lives of youth around the world. I have seen this first hand for over 16 years of traveling around the world.
I will be traveling soon to partner with our staff in Nepal as we work together to inspire youth ministry leaders in Asia. (Departing Jan. 31st and returning Feb. 14th).
The first week will be a key Level 2 training in Kathmandu, Nepal. We will get to hear the details of what has been happening in their ministry since the training they received last year. It will also be a time to further train them and allow them to learn from one another. Time after time I am inspired by how many young people have come to Christ through the ministry of these leaders in just one year!
After this training we will gather for the first ever Nepal Global Youth Ministry Network Summit! Here we are gathering the the staff, the volunteers and key pastors and church hosts. This will be time of reflection on all that God has been doing and a time to envision and plan for the years ahead.
What is incredibly exciting is not only the great work happening in Nepal through our teams, but the opportunities to go to “all the nations” in the region. We will be praying for and planning for work to continue or start in the following locations as well: Bhutan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh and Hong Kong (with possible in-roads into mainland China).
Once Jomesh and I finish up in Nepal, we will be heading to Hong Kong where he has arranged a training with over 30 local Nepali churches based in Hong Kong. This will be our first ever training in Hong Kong!
You can see that this will be a busy two weeks so if you could please pray specifically and regularly for our strength: Physical, emotional and especially spiritual, it would be deeply appreciated. Also please pray for my family (Penny and Levi) as well as I travel.
Feel free to follow along on FaceBook and on Twitter.
Your hand to the nations!

Year End Giving
At GYMN we have had a great year in regards to training leaders all around the globe with ministry year to date to 939 youth ministry leaders from 8 countries who will reach and disciple at least 18,780 youth annually!
Thank you!
We would however love to finish the year well financially. A good financial finish to the year would help us insure that we can commit to follow up with the leaders we have trained this year. We are facing a shortage in our incomes to date so your year end tax deductible support would give us the confidence to finish this year well and to face 2013′s ministry opportunities.

Going to Vietnam
I am not sure what you think of when you hear of Vietnam? In one of our GYMN Board meetings, when we mentioned the words, “we are going to Vietnam”, this brought out an emotional response from decades ago when these words would mean someone was going there to fight in a war and may face what that meant for their life and those around them. Recently, through GYMN, leaders from our Asia team (names and locations are being withheld for safety and security), were able to minister in Vietnam. They went as Christ’s ambassadors to bring the peace that only Christ can provide in life, despite the outward circumstances. The circumstances are not easy for those in Vietnam to be Christian. They have few of the freedoms that we have here to worship, for example:
- Most churches are not allowed to be recognized by the government.
- Only about 2% of the population are evangelical Christians.
- Publicly sharing Christ to evangelize is against the law.
- Contact with foreign missionaries is forbidden.
- Development of church leadership is the most urgent need of the Vietnamese churches.
Despite the lack of freedoms, these young people in Vietnam are eager to know of Christ and to share Him with others for the sake of the next generation.
Thank you for walking with us as we reach the difficult places of this world for His sake!
